If you mean the Annual Nest Meet at the Ace, it's always the first Sunday in October

Hopefully I can come to this!

Anyone going down from Suffolk/Norfolk?

Buzz to the Hive!

Doubt if they will overshadow us. I happened to be at the Ace on the Fireblade day a few weeks ago. By the time I left late morning only 8 Blades had shown up and 2 had already left. And the HOC tent was stuck in the corner and as busy as a snake oil salesman at a doctors convention.

I've contacted Linda at the Ace to find out what the hell is going on, as this event was originally set up by ourselves, and has been run by us annually for the last 8 or 9 years.

Will keep you posted

OK, got a reply from Linda, and since had a phone conversation

Quote:
Hi Sue,

Thanks for your below email, further to which please be advised that the 2nd October is indeed a Honda Hornet Swarm. The Honda Owners Club contacted the cafe some while ago, and asked is they could have a stand, as it is the 50th anniversary of the club.

The Hornet Ace Meet is still ours, and will be until we say we no longer want the annual date. It's the Honda Owners Club 50th. anniversary this year, and they have politely requested a stand at the Ace on all Honda-related days this year. The Ace, of course, do have the right to admit or refuse whosoever they choose.

Personally, I don't have a problem with this, as the extra publicity could do us a lot of good, but we do need a good presence there on the day.

I think those of us there on the day from the admin side should make ourselves known to the HOC and work with them to promote Hornets. It's not a matter of HOC usurping us, rather that we could be beneficial to each other.

They were there earlier in the year on honda and monkeybike day.

They were giving certificates for the best bikes.

You never know they may do the same for our Hornets.

Can anyone recommend any decent diggs nearby? I may be coming directly from Worksop or picking a mate up at Milton Keynes if anyone wants to meet up on the way down?

Right, seems daft to start yet another thread! So....

Can anyone who is a def "YES PLEASE I HAVE TO SEE MY FELLOW NESTEES ONCE AGAIN THIS YEAR, SO COUNT ME IN!!!" please put your name here plus any partners/friends etc who wish to come along, and copy paste additional names thereafter.. :k

It would be very useful if you could state your accommodation too (camping numbers for pub?!)

ok..

Smiler - B&B/Lodge (yeah ok ok! I'm getting old alright!!?? :lol )

...next!

:D
