Friday 15th to Monday 18th June

Mains Farm Wigwams
Thornhill
Stirling

Check it out . . . . . . http://mainsfarmwigwams.com/

6 wigwams reserved so able to offer up to 18 places. Will contact local pub to provide full cooked breakfasts but if that doesn't work out we have a plan B :p

The accomodation at the camp site is to be paid in advance, Food and drink will be dealt with seperately.

Here's the link to the pub FYI . . . . . http://www.lion-unicorn.co.uk/

As the event isn't too far away we need to get an idea of actual numbers so please reply to this thread asap.

Thanks.

Have been looking enviously at all the Hornet events down south. Would be great to get something organised up here in Scotland :) .

Last year was the only year since 2004 we haven't done the Highland Sting. Input from hornet owners in Scotland has been limited to say the least.

OK this is the plan . . . .

Friday
Travel to campsite, off-load gear, ride to Callandar for a fish & chip supper, then back to the camp site for beers.

Saturday
Lazy day. Start with a full fried breakfast then a short ride out around a few twisty roads. BBQ in the afternoon with plenty of liquid refreshment

Sunday
Another fried breakfast which will be essential as this will be Vespa's ride out day. Have asked him to limit it to around 200 miles . . . . then back to camp site and off to pub for food and beers.

Monday
Pack up our gear and down to the pub for our final breakfast. Sad goodbyes then the ride home.

I've managed to book 6 wigwams today. We have a group price of £35 per wigwam per night, £630 total cost.

So if 3 people share a wigwam the price is £35 each for the weekend.

Regarding the breakfast at the pub this is being looked into. If their prices are too high we will do our own bacon & sausage rolls in the campsite kitchen.

I will PM each of you with my address so you can send me a cheque.

Well hello,

I've been in touch with the Lion & Unicorn.
So awaiting feedback on costs for a sit down table served breakfast, as was £5.75 in 2010.
But also made an enquiry on our walking in to a self serve option.
This'd consist o' say two big trays o' squerr sausage an' bacon:
As complete wae a stack o' buttered rolls and affie muckle (large) tea an' coffee pots.

The latter option is preferred by Fiona, the owner.
As it'd be easier to serve and less costly in prep' o' tables etc.
And what's less costly to serve, will be less costly furr the punter.
Plus, it'd be jist as good a feed an' wae it, we'd likely be gettin' away earlier.
As also wid mean, back earlier furr sharin' o' the craic on a grand day oot...
All, as waashed doon wae a wee drinkie or three. :lol

Aye a feel ma cockles waarmin tae anither Heilin' Sting an' the fine times an' folks associated.

By the way; furr those who remember the 2008 run; don't be tellin those who huvnae jist how good it is.
As likely best tae let it blow their minds as they experience it ! ;)

Will keep ye posted Phil / Scott on brekkie updates as soon as Fiona gets back to me.
