- I think if we have people travelling from all corners there should be a definite time slot - I'd suggest a slot of a couple of hours for people to aim for - we wouldn't consider a 400 mile round trip on the basis that we 'might' happen to meet other members of the club in London ! :)

I intend to arrive close to 9.00 and decide based upon how many are there whether or not to go to Boxhill (probably will as the ride to the Ace is short for me - and the burgers at Rykas are better and cheaper!). I intend to make a day of it but need to be home by about 6.00 as we have visitors coming.

....no-ones answered my real query - if this is a national bike meeting with people riding hundreds of miles to hook up with each other then 9-5 is a crazy meeting window - is this an organized meet ? - if people in the south are meeting at 9am how does that help people on a 4 hour journey ?

Could do with some help here....

The Ace Day isn't set up by the club as such, it's an Ace Cafe thing. People are more than welcome to hang around at the Ace later in the day if they want but because it's a Sunday only event most of us generally need to get home for work the next day. As I stated earlier, some of us used to travel down on the Saturday and stay with Steve and Samm, go out on the Saturday night then ride to the Ace on Sunday morning for breakfast.

...Cheers Scott - I think we had a plan to ride down the night before - but even if we did that I think some sort of co-ordination on meeting times and hooking up with folk would be appropriate given the status of this meeting.

...no disrespect but it's a bit like saying that the Swarm is at Rivington Barn next week - with people riding down from Scotland and up from Birmingham to meet fellow Hornet Rider(s) who may or may not be there at anytime between 9am and 5pm.

Could we suggest a firm meeting time for one of the clubs key social events ...

When we have ride-outs arranged during the day then the times are set by the club but as it's an informal event open to anyone not just club members it's not always feasible to set meeting times as people tend to turn up throughout the day. In the past it has been a good place to pick up new members who haven't heard of the club before therefore the club needs a presence at the Ace all day not just one specific time. I think you have slightly misunderstood the Ace Cafe's concept of different model specific days. In a nutshell the schedule for the day is outside our control due to it being advertised elsewhere. It's easy to set a meeting time but watch what happens when I do.

Club members to meet Little Insect at the front door of the Ace Cafe at 11.30am on the day.

I was a bit concerned about getting there for 9am and I only live 20mins away (have a wedding the night before).

I will turn up for 11:30 at the front door. Will probably be in need of some greasy grub from the ace at that point.

Looking forward to it!

cheers Scott - that would be great having something to aim for - likely to travel down, but stop off outside of London making 9am a bit of a drag - meeting up at that time would be superb, especially if we can then hit another bike meet on the way home ... weather permitting (showers ok but monsoons not) we have a plan !

I'm trying to convince my biker mates to come along and as we all live in Surrey we will probably be happy to visit Ryka's with you. If they come along it'll be two custom cruisers and me and my husband on CBR600.

Myself and Bob (Boblet) are definitely confirmed - we're setting off Sat and staying with Bob's family in the Cotswolds - not sure of exact location as yet, but if you're going to be travelling from the North/West (NW, Wales, West Country,West Midlands) and fancy a meet up on the way in on Sunday, would be great to sort that - I reckon we'll be travelling between 8.30/9.00 onwards to arrive at the Ace before 11am.

Will be riding back obviously so also keen to get tips on good routes back up north and recommended stop offs !

I've stuffed about 5k+ on the bike since August '11, but this is the longest single journey yet ! Looking forward to it !

I'll know more by Friday on our route but put any suggestions here !

Yes that's the one, coming south exit at the A605 to Oundle and once at the top of the slip road go right around the roundabout and they are right in front of you. Sight nav works well here. if you end up on a 3 lane motorway you just missed it :D

So i will be there to meet anybody who turns up. Just park as close to the front doors as you can. will defo be gone by 10 as L.I. will be waiting at 11.30 by the front door of the Ace.

I cannot remember exactly were you are John , pick the closest spot to you on the A5 were you want to meet up (postcode if you can) and I'll pop it in my sat nav and see what it conjures up and I'll call you. Never done the Ace solo ,been with some mates , but the sat nav will sort it out at the London end ,with a bit of luck. :Pray

Just checked the map, there is a BP garage a little south of the A5/A45 junction at Weedon, how’s 10 sound?
The garage is on the left just after a Premier Inn, it’s post code is NN7 4PX

I think we're coming in via Stratford on the Sunday morning - will know more tonight - anyone coming from that general direction who fancies a meet up ? Jon
