Hello all, another first time Hornet owner here.

Actually my first bike in quite some time but it wasn't long after arriving in North Yorkshire (from New Zealand) that I decided; these roads are made for ridin'.

Took a year of looking but just in time for the new season I 've acquired this Black Beauty;

Naturally there's been a lot of other gear to acquire. Particularly pleased with that tank bag, £30 new on eBay, converts to a proper backpack (rather than a hand-bag :D) and the handy tilted GPS pocket is close enough to my body that I can lean forward to shade it from the sun when necessary.

Taking it quietly to begin with (not that I've ever been short of a well-developed sense of self-preservation).

Might need a few tips on maintenance and sourcing parts.

Ciao!

Welcome to the club, there's some lovely roads up your way apparently :D

Hornet's a great bike, good all-rounder for traffic and twisties - enjoy!!

Hey Steve, I'm a little outside of Richmond.

Already checked out some of your rebuild threads - very impressive!

I'm not nearly so industrious. It'll be all I can do to keep one bike straight but I do daydream about having the time (okay, I probably have this), money (not so much) and know-how (not at all) to customize a bike. I imagine it's a really satisfying creative outlet.
