Good morning all joined this splendid forum for the pros and cons of owning a Hornet. The wife wanted me to go and buy a Chinese 125 cheap to run sinnis 125cc RSX. I'm wanting a used 2003 600 hornet. Cheap to buy and Honda engine and build quality. Hoping to be looking at one for around 2k soon. A winter commuter as I'm sick of being stuck in traffic. I passed my test on a Hornet back in 2005 and I've wanted to get back on since.

Hi mate, welcome to the forum.

As a motorcycle the Hornet is a lot of fun and will keep you amused - but it also makes a good commuting bike - it's light and maneuverable in traffic but has all the power and speed you need when you want it - and I've come to that assessment after owning a few bikes of various types/engine size etc.

Welcome to the nest :)

Japanese engineering versus Chinese (reverse) engineering... never mind leagues they're not even in the same universe! :Bad Having said that; after 3 years of all whether commuting my still look good and are still going strong :angel

You won't regret buying a Hornet... she'l put a grin on your face :)

Thanks for the welcome guys. Going looking at a 2003 600 Hornet end of this week up in Wigan. Its had 8 owners but only done 22000 miles, I've checked the MOTs and its failed one. Front lamp out of position. So hoping its still a good engine and carbs ain't bogged down.
