Had the bike for 3 weeks now, love it to bits.
Will be adding new bits to it as I go along, only have new brake and clutch levers for now, but more is defiantly going to be added.

Also have a belly pan and seat cowl, but just need to get them painted.

Just got a couple more parts planned for now, but I'm sure more will be to come :)

Nice bike mate!! In my opinion the '06 model is the prettiest hornet ever made! I think it needs an aftermarket can!

That orange has to be my favourite colour on a hornet! Besides black, of course :D

Seriously though gorgeous bike you got there, the orange sets the gold off on the forks a treat :clap

Just a small update, got the bike prepped for the winters riding, gave the down pipes a going over with wire wool, but with the rain they look the same as before :blast
Got my new bars and a quick action throttle waiting to be fitted when I have the time. And my seat cowl and belly pan are at another painters now, hoping they will be done properly this time :cry

Yes its very good quality, come wirh all bits needed to, a clamp for the link pipe, a gasket and a bolt for the end can to attach to the subframe.
Defiantly worth getting, great value for money :)

If you do a lot of filtering mate you'll find the bars as they are are a right PITA, they're too wide. What I, and a lot of others have done/did was to cut down the bars on each side by a couple inches or so, you still get your weight over the front wheel more but without having such wide bars - also solves the cable issue you're having too.
Nice looking bike though, best colour of the best model IMO. I'd not worry too much about a quick action throttle in winter to be honest, you'll get used to it very quickly and it's just a matter of being careful with it for the first few rides :)
be careful with your new tyres though, particularly as there's no heat around any more - they look like Michelin Road 3s which are what I've got on my ZX9R - I had then scrubbed in about 15 miles of roundabout surfing but that was back in the summer - be warned they've got quite a pointy profile so seem to drop in quite quickly compared to a lot of other brands of tyres, just be careful to start with :)

Well ive got 3 holes taped out each side an inch apart, so ill be trying full length and go from there.
Cheers for the heads up on the tyres. Ill be taking it extrq carefull anyway :-)

Im not exactly allowed. I wheel it in when my mums out, and if its not out when shes back she can wheel it out if able to by her self :finger

I also realised today that if i were to fit the bars indoors it wouldnt fit out the door :lol

Be aware of the short length of your clutch cable. I doubt it will reach to the new bar position an inch further away. Mine won't.

Finally got my bits back from being painted, seat cowl isnt an exact match which I'm not too happy about but its the closest they could get :/

Plans are to get my bars fitted when i have some spare time, and some nano led indicators and smaller mirrors when i have spare moneys, as all my current savings are going to one piece leathers for trackdays :evil

Have to say, even though they are copys of the oxford nanos (not paying £50 a pair!) they feel solid and quality built, very bright too :)

Not updated for a while, many due to not a lot happening, saving for a tail tidy and a smaller plate.
Also looking to spray the hugger and side panels black, but might vinyl wrap them first incase I change my mind.
Gave her a clean and removed the fly screen, looks a lot better now IMO.

Image

Few more pictures here, would put them here but it won't let me select the img tags for some reason :Bang

Enjoy...

Though I’d update this as its been a while;
Did my first trackday back in may at Mallory Park, lovely little track and had a great day :)
Image
Image
Had a load more planned, but sadly I made a mistake on the roads, and paid for it like this :(
Image
Image
Image
Not too much damage considering, but still haven’t got round to fixing the belly pan and seat cowl, so bikes looks a bit naked now…
From then on, not much has changed, sprayed my hugger black myself, which didn’t turn out too bad;
Image
Then I did my 2nd trackday at Rockingham in November, bit dodgy as track was damp in places and it was about highs of 6’c so tyres didn’t really heat up that much, but, for Pilot Road 3’s, they handled track abuse well.
Image
Image

And that’s it for this year. Hopefully much more to come for next season!
