There's currently a discussion over on the FaceBook Nest site, about the possibility of holding an anniversary Swarm or just a meeting next year.
This has been generated by a discussion between a few of us long-standing members, but for those of you not on Facebook, can you register any interest for such an event, and any ideas as to location, format, etc?

Point is, we stopped holding Swarms and Stings a few years ago because of poor interest and almost non-existant attendance, so we're not going to put any effort into organising something that's just not worth the effort. We'd prefer to keep it just between a few close friends who we can rely on to turn up and have a good time :Beer :FTC

I live in the midlands and wouldn't mind travelling a bit if arranged early enough.

(went to the ACE cafe a few years ago but hardly anyone turned up)

Wouldn't mind meetnig a few of the longer standing members either.

Almost a week on and only one reply, kinda makes the point about why we stopped the events. :cry

I just noticed this as I don't look in so often and usually just click on Active Topics.

Might be more response if it was in the Events Section.

As a latecomer to the Nest, I thoroughly enjoyed the last Highland Sting and would love to go to another meet.
(promise to keep away from any pool tables :o )

I think Little Insect is trying to gauge interest before confirming it as an event hence the reason it's in here. I would love to do another Highland Sting but would have to alter the format a bit these days.

you do have the option to select only unread posts/unanswered posts/active topics/new posts/your posts................

Yes, I was trying to establish if there would be sufficient interest, to avoid spending hours setting something up that hardly anyone turns up to - as has happened in the past

I know of the features you mentioned.
I'm on all the hornet fb pages I could find as well (and have them all set to notify me of every new post).

What I'm saying if there is a bit more advertising on this forum and on the fb pages, it might get more views and more interest.
