I'm not expecting any replies to this post - I just had to get it off my chest . . .

Putting the rear disc on the wheel as part of my resto - go looking for the bolts in the deluxe bolt box where all the bolts for this bike were stored after stripping down - cannot for the life of me find the f*ckers :Bang - I turrn the house upside down looking for them (because a new set of four bolts will cost me 22 quid!) I finally admit defeat and luckily spot a used set on ebay for 6 quid so snap them up!

They arrive in the post this morning and I fit them :D - I then look in my deluxe bolt box for some other unrelated bolts - and there in a jar are the f*ckers staring up at me! :eek They were there all along :Bang It's like they dematerialised and the only thing that would bring them back into physical reality was if I bought a replacement set!!! Sod's law or what?

Guys - it gets worse . . .

It's either the hot weather or Paul is on the money with the dementia :(

Today I ordered a new set of bearings and a dust cover for the sprocket carrier because I couldn't for the life of me remember ordering a replacement set for the ones I removed earlier in the year - guess what happened when I opened the f*cking draw of my desk? Yep - both of the replacement bastards were already there looking up at me . . . :Bang

I should of had a proper parts checklist recording system set up in advance rather than just stuffing stuff in boxes and draws FFS. :o

Happens all the time to me.

When I had the Hornets carbs off the other week, finished the job, locked up the garage and came back to the house. That was the last time I saw that particular bunch of keys. I've also lost the torch that I was using in my gloomy garage.

I expect that I'll find the keys and torch in the same place, but I'm blowed if I can think where, looked in all the usual places, guess it will turn up in the least expected place one of these days.

The car is another source of panic. It's one with keyless entry and a starter button. A couple of times I've arrived at my destination, not been able to find the key fob to lock up with. Usually turns up with the dogs in the back of the car.

Which is where one set of house keys eventually turned up. After I'd changed the locks on the house. :Bang :evil :evil

I said to our receptionist last week " I'm b*ggered if I can remember where I parked the car this morning"

Her reply was " Didn't you come on your bike today?"

Ebay is a blessing and a curse - stuff gets ordered twice by mistake because it's so bloody easy to just click and buy - rather than the conscious and considered effort it used to take to actually go out to a shop and physically purchase something - no wonder the high street is going down the toilet . . .

Well, I found my missing keys yesterday, in the rucksack I'd worn last time I went to the shops on my bike. :Bang

Hornet MOT due next week. Just checked it over, rear brake light not working. Hydraulic switch mounted on banjo.

Checked the wiring, definitely the switch this time. Not a problem, I have a spare one.

You can guess the rest …..
