Evans Waterless Coolant.

I never knew there was such a thing, anyway it is. I realise he's not everyone's cup of tea but I'm following his 'Street Fighter' project and that is where I learned of it!

Update.... he's done a follow up to it, skip to 11:40

Just wondering if anyone has ever used it? :)

Yeah - I heard him mention that on the video and thought WTF? Waterless coolant?! Never heard of it before also.

I'll be interested to see what it's all about.

If I've read my books about Spitfires etc correctly, the cooling systems on those WW2 aero engines (Merlin et al) were filled with 'glycol'.

So isn't this 'waterless' coolant something similar, just old style ethylene glycol antifreeze, used neat rather than diluted with water ?

Much higher boiling point than water, so no need to pressurise cooling system, at least at ground level.

Was quite interesting. Great if you plan on keeping your bike for a few years, no more coolant changes

The person who invents a super conductor will be a billionaire ,,, ie , you dont need a fluid , your cooling system will be a solid substance.

It will happen one day , maybe not in our life time though.

This guy Matt Hudson at 'The Workshop' Youtube channel (link below) gives Evans waterless coolant a major slagging and questions the products credibility in a series of videos on the subject including laboratory type experiments - and if you see the guys channel he does know his onions vis-a-vis motorcycle engineering and the physics behind it - the Evans controversy has also sparked off a mini-war between Hudson and 'Del Boy' (who has promoted the Evans coolant on his channel) which has spilled over into a pretty comprehensive and no punches pulled attack on Del Boy's credibility as a purveyor of motorcycle technical advice (get the popcorn out and check out some of those videos . . . )
