Dear all,

The 'push' throttle cable on my CB250 '98 has snapped. Are the throttle cables for the 250s the same as those for the CB600s? Is the push cable the same as the pull cable?

Ps: lets not turn this into a cables cant push thread like all the others.

Thank you,

Olly

Hey mate, ya have 2 cables, one is ya throttle cable and the other is your (throttle return cable), you can use any hornet 250 cables or do what i do and go to wreckers and buy the cbr250rr cables as they are the same, i paid approx $30 nz 2nd hand for both cables from wreckers, as buying a new throttle return cable would cost $120nz. so just find compatable throttle setup(i.e take old 1 in and match it to new 1) and your away. you can ride without it but its recommended to have both because if you dont have it and your throttle sticks you have no control to shut carbies.
hope it helps

You dont list where you live but here in the UK you can either buy the genuine or if Venhill eng http://www.venhill.co.uk/ dont list your cables all you have to do is post the old ones and they can at a push turn them round in 72 hours. They have done this with made to measure race cables for us in the past Oldgit

I bought two CBR 250 cables, they're far too short for my hornet 250

1. Go to FAQ/How to
2. Download the PDF Parts Book
3. Search for the Throttle Cables
4. Write down that code/number
5. Search the internet for it or go into your local Honda dealership and ask for it.

gonna look for some cables with same size...as long as they will fit and will give good throttle response it should work alright... honda parts are quite hard to find here in P.I. if ever you found one it will be expensive...
