Hi All,

Had a pretty nasty spill yesterday and have managed to damage my 250 hornet. Obviously some 250 parts are hard to get hold of and even if they're available they can be pricey. For example OEM bars are over £80 plus p&p. Tanks are rarer than rocking horse s##t too.

so I was wondering if any of the early 600 (98/99) parts fit?

tank
bars
gear lever
foot rests

Thanks!!

the tank will fit, but the fuel tap is in the wrong place.

Bars are standard dimension, so the 600 ones should fit, as should Renthals etc.

Dunno about the gear lever and foot rests, but it looks from pictures as though they're the same

Don't know if that helps much, but you could check IMPEX in Japan for any original Honda part number and prices. Then you could either order from there (I have had good experience with them) or at least compare to the parts for the 600.

Thanks a lot guys.

Just bought a 600 tank from ebay. Same color and decals as my 250 and it looks pretty mint too. Hopefully looks as good in the flesh as it does in the pictures.

now to figure out what to do about the tap and whether ill need to buy a new one when it arrives...

Please keep us updated here. I'm sure this would be very useful information for other 250 owners in similar situations. Thanks!

Got the 600 tank to fit. Was a bit of a squeeze and had to rotate the tap 45 degrees...but it's on...just.

You may notice that the fuel line is quite close to the engine block... nothing some proper heat insulation tape can't handle though. I guess if you're worried about this, you could just find another tap where fuel line outlet is different

Hope this helps!
