I am doing a group buy for Bike Track "trackers" the RRP is £400 including 1yr live cover.

the deal is £280 incuding the 1yr cover. (2 orders ready need 3 more to keep this price)

Track your bike or fit one to your kids car so you know where they are and what seeds they do...
If you ride alone and would feel safer in the event of an off, the tracker will call home letting people know you are down, sounds bad but better then being lost with your bike on top of you.

About the Tracker.

* Discrete tracking device that lets you remotely monitor the unauthorised movements of your pride and joy, in real-time
* Alerts sent to your mobile phone or email indicating actual GPS location, triggered when:
* Device moves outside of a geographical area (geo-fence),
* On-board motion sensors detect movement* In the event you fall off your bike ( over 10mph ) the unit will text a number of your choice giving you location, ( usefull if you ride on your own )
* Provides the ability to view breadcrumb trails of all your journeys, including how many miles you've travelled and your (approximate) speeds
* Secure online web-portal allows remote real-time monitoring of your bike, also providing the user with the ability to customise automated alerts based on user-configurable events
* Easy installation - only requires connection to vehicle battery supply, an earth source and ignition (ignition is optional)
* For short-term use, Bike Trac will last up-to 30 days powered by its internal battery - without connection to a power supply
* Bike Trac can be moved from vehicle to vehicle. Fit into your car, van or even tractor, if required!

Product size

66mm x 33mm x 15mm

£99 a year, but the good thing is you can move from bike to bike.

simple 3 wire fitting, but best to hide it well.

one customer got his ducati back after only 3 hrs, the tracker was fitted behind his clocks,
another customer got his tracker back after 2 hrs, after fitting it under his seat.. no sign of the bike though.

I would consider this if the costs came down a little... :)

I can't see the info on the site but do these things also work in Europe?

I assume it has a very low current draw, so there is no reason why you couldn't fit it onto any live circuit on the bike as long as it is used often enough. Like the lighting circuit.

you can fit to any live supply to charge, and yes you can use them in the EU, if you are just nipping out of the Uk you are ok, if you live out side of the Uk the cost of the live service is £150 a year to cover the roaming charges.

Thanks

I found the info in their T&Cs in the end 2.8 "...service only provided within the UK. The service may operate abroad, however Road Angel Group makes no guarantee to its accuracy".

http://www.biketrac.co.uk/
That site isn't exactly helpful.

Another thought is if it uses the mobile phone signal to provide an approximate location when GPS isn't available. GPS is much easier to block than a mobile phone signal and it would give you a chance to get close to it when it resurfaces again.

An Android app that overlays GoogleMaps for tracking would be useful as well but now I'm asking too much.

Also finding conflicting prices for the tracking on their various sites:
http://www.biketrac.co.uk, 1-year £99.99, 2-year £179
http://www.road-angel.co.uk/road_angel_bike_trac.asp £7.99 per month, £79.99 per year, £149.99 for 2 years, £199.99 for 3 years (that could just be out of date but it does imply that they have fairly recently up'd their prices by around 20%)

the old price was £79 but they now have a dedicated call center now so the price had to go up.

I use mine in Portugal and the tracking works just fine. the only down side is the police cover out of the Eu is not as easy,

in the Uk if you bike gets nicked the call center will call you and then inform the police to find the tracker, if you are overseas you still get the call/email/txt from the center but you need to inform your local police giving them the location.
